Five tips to make your business excel on LinkedIn

If you’re looking for a more professional environment to boost your business, LinkedIn is the no-nonsense businessman of social platforms. To help you impress the board, here are five tips on how to use LinkedIn in an efficient manner that will even have CEOs following in your footsteps.

1. Go big or go home

LinkedIn generally has a more formal atmosphere to it than other social networks – it’s a social platform built for businesses and their employees to provide official information about their company. It acts as a secondary reliable source for users, so treat it as an extension to your website.

2. Keep it clear and concise

Don’t treat LinkedIn as a personal social profile – we don’t want to hear about your weekend endeavours! Users want informative content about your company, so share blog updates from your website and contribute to existing conversations. In other words, show off some knowledge or information that isn’t already available to others.

3. Introduce the (work) family

If you have staff, be the numbers big or small, get them set up with a profile on LinkedIn. Encourage them to share content from the business profile. You’re far more likely to achieve better reach with your posts if your staff are chatting about the process of your latest campaign or their experience of working on a new product.

People want to understand how your business works and what it’s like to work in your company, so use this opportunity to show them.

4. Participate where you can

Don’t just use your LinkedIn profile to post content about your business – get involved in group discussions with like-minded professionals.

LinkedIn is a great platform for industry groups – just think of it like an online networking paradise. Instead of groups on other, more personal social networks, you’re less likely to be bogged down in internet drama and instead will have more of an opportunity to connect with fellow experts and, dare we say it, potential clients.

5. Let’s get the ad ball rolling

LinkedIn offers a variety of ads, from sponsored photo ads and text ads to sponsored InMail straight into someone’s LinkedIn inbox. However, this is where you’ll need to talk the talk in a slick and professional manner. We’ll help you promote your business with eye-catching sponsored content, craft the perfect voice for your text ads, and engage with professionals in a way that demonstrates your knowledge and understanding of your business industry. We’ll show people that you know your stuff, and before you know it, you’ll be the life of the party.
